About the Event

Operation: Grey Spear  

Background:

The 2011 Arab Spring ignited protests against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, escalating into a brutal civil war. Al-Assad's forces, bolstered by Russia and Iran, fought against diverse rebel groups, including the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

In 2014, a splinter group of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), known as Daesh or ISIS, established a caliphate in northern Syria. Their brutal tactics drew condemnation from al-Qaeda itself, highlighting their extremism. Despite being pushed back, ISIS remains a threat.

By 2017, al-Qaeda merged Syrian factions to form Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), also known as AQIS. Sharing al-Qaeda's ideology and tactics, HTS gained control of Idlib, posing a growing threat to Syrian stability and global security.

Turning Point:

In December 2018, US President Trump announced a rapid withdrawal of American troops from Syria, leaving Kurdish allies vulnerable. With unclear intelligence on AQIS, the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) deployed more agents to Idlib, supported by covert UK Special Forces (UKSF) under Task Force Trident.

Operation Grey Spear:

Intelligence revealed that ISIS' decline had merely strengthened AQIS/HTS, their radicalism now unchecked. Internal purges and a growing influx of foreign fighters returning to the West heightened concerns of global terror attacks. Consequently, HTS/AQIS became a high-priority target for multiple nations.

The UK government shifted its mission from intelligence gathering to Hunt/Capture/Kill of high-value targets (HVTs) in Idlib. Additional UKSF and Royal Air Force (RAF) assets were deployed, marking the initiation of Operation Grey Spear.

This is an immersive theme game, you will be required to adhere to the loadout theme, the weapon limits and rate of fire limits, there will be player role play and role players, you will be expected to be able interact with both of these! There will be rules of engagement, command structure to be adhered too, objectives that are your primary concern, not just to shoot shit! This is not a skirmish, nor a battlesim or speedsoft! If you just want to kick doors or run around shooting people this is not the event for you please don’t book on as you will be asked to leave the event with out refund. If you want interaction, can read/understand verbal instruction, can follow a command structure, want to achieve your objectives and don’t feel the need to chase every bit of bb fire like 5 year old playing football then feel free to read and understand the rules and book on!

TEAMS 

Please read this section carefully. The base clothing requirements will be strictly enforced. If you can’t comply you will not play, please don’t turn up to the event and expect for it to be ok if you are not correctly dressed as you will be disappointed. Please also try and match you’re load carrying gear in keeping with team selection.

MI6 Operatives: 20 places Only:

PMC Style load out, check shirts and cargo pants, civvy look. (may require other clothes, as briefed)

This will be an immersive role, and will require periods of operating independantly, sometines in intelligence gathering situations that requrie stealth or tact rather than action.

UKSF TROOPS : 45 PLACES ONLY:

MC/MTP/DESERT ONLY

TAN OR BRIT TAC BLUFOR BALL CAPS ONLY, TAN OR MC HELMETS ONLY. 

 NO SHEMAGHS.

This is a moderate role play role, you will be expected to interact with the MI6 and locals, YOU WILL BE ON ROE, You must be able to control difficult and tense situations without the use of deadly force, whilst ensuring the safety of the MI6 officers. If you can't use a radio, think on your feet or interact and perform under pressure or in tense situations this is not the role for you.

This is a moderate role play role,You must be able to induce difficult and tense and aggressive situations without the use of deadly force.

If you can't use a radio, think on your feet or interact and perform under pressure or in tense situations this is not the role for you.

CONDUCT:

We operate a zero-tolerance policy to poor conduct! We will not tolerate cheats! We will not tolerate cheat calling or abusive behaviour towards anybody! (tell a marshal that is what they are there for!) We will not tolerate blind firing! The marshals word is final and arguing will not be tolerated! 3 strikes and your out!1st time you will be warned 2nd time you will leave the game (for at least 30 mins)3rd time you will leave the event and be banned from any future events with Brit Tac (this includes weekend events and our home site games) IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS INFORM A MARSHAL IMMEDIATELY, NOT HOURS LATER WHEN NOTHING CAN BE DONE!

HITS:

When Hit, a player must leave the playing area as quickly as possible with one hand raised in the air above their head whilst continuously calling “dead man walking”.A hit is classed as a direct strike from a BB on any part of the player and their equipment including the weapon in hand. Dead men can not talk and will be deemed as poor conduct

FIRE MODE/FPS LIMITS:

AEGs/GBB Rifle/Pistol /HPA = maximum 350 FPS with .2g BBs. with a max rate of fire 16 RPS Single shot bolt action sniper = maximum 500 FPS with .2g BBS (30 Meter minimum engagement rule)All weapons will be chronographed before commencement of play with 0.20g bb’s and random chronographing will take place throughout the event. Please ensure your weapons is within the limits as any weapon found to be over the FPS limit must be placed back in the player’s vehicle or left in the event office until the end of the event. No exceptions will be made.Any player found trying to cheat the chrono will be immediately removed from the event.

NO HPA PISTOLS, NO BINARY TRIGGERS. NO ROF ABOVE 18RPS

NO DMR AT COPEHILL

SINGLE SHOT ONLY INSIDE BUILDINGS

You may fire full auto in too/out of a building but must switch to semi once you are in a building.

AMMO LIMITS

No loose ammunition is to be carried –all ammo must be carried in magazines, however loose ammunition can be stored at you’re team’s regeneration point and you can replenish your ammo as and when required throughout the day at regen.

ASSAULT WEAPONS

Mid or Low Capacity Magazines Only (max 180 rnds per mag, NO EPS) NO HI CAPS!!! The maximum magazine limit. A maximum of 8 magazines in total for your primary weapon (to be shown at chrono prior to game on)

SNIPER RIFLES100 BB’s

at any one time(in magazines) + Sidearm (no AEG allowed at the same time as using sniper rifle, side arm only)

SUPPORT WEAPONS

1 Full Box Magazine (Maximum size of 3000 rounds) PISTOLS A maximum 5, standard capacity (i.e. Not extended mags) Magazines can be carried (1 in the pistol and 4 spares).If you use extended magazines for your pistol, then the limit is 3 magazines

DMR (NO DMR'S AT COPEHILL DOWN)

Max FPS of 450 on .2g bb (or its equivalent in joules),Must be locked to semi (no adjustable mosfets),30m minimum engagement rule applies No DMR use inside buildings (must switch to pistol),Must be a recognised DMR and have optics fitted (not just a hot MP5k!)DMR ammo limit reduced to a max of 5 midcaps in game

Sidearms (Pistol only) no HPA/HPA adaptors 5 standard mags or three extended mags max

MEDIC RULES

Any medic rules in play will be explained at the event game brief.

BANG RULE

We do not enforce the BANG rule, but you may use it at your discretion, we do however expect common sense at close ranges!

PYRO: ALL PYRO MUST BE APPROVED BY US BEFORE USE.

Please be aware our own effect pyro is far more powerful and ear plugs are advised, Buildings. Any player in a room is dead unless behind hard cover. Hard cover is classed as a physical barrier between the player and line of sight of the grenade i.e a wall, not hiding behind the player in front of you! Never try to return a deployed pyro! Smoke Smoke is for screening purposes only and does not have any other in game effect. Military smokes are allowed outside of buildings. No military smokes inside buildings. Game effect pyro Any other pyro which has any in game effects will be used and controlled by a marshall, the marshal will inform the players effected and to what extent.

SLEEPING

1.Sleep in game. Players that choose to do so must wear their eye protection at all times. (post a sentry) (24hr GAMES ONLY) 

2. An allocated safe sleeping building/Camping Area (if one is available at the event) .

3. Your vehicle within the Car Park 

4. Off site (Must sign out and back in on return)
